The strength of “Uyare” lies in the honest and diligent performance of Parvathy, which pulls you emotionally even in the shaky, melodramatic patches of the film. The subtle and understated narrative in the first act feels compromised by the last two, as if to please the crowd. It left me cold by the time end credits rolled.
